How Motohub collects, uses, and protects your personal information
Introduction
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Motohub, Inc. (“Motohub,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information in connection with your use of Motohub’s website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). This Policy is not a contract and does not create rights or obligations beyond those required by law.
Motohub is an online marketplace for motorsports enthusiasts. To operate the Services, we collect information from buyers and sellers. This includes information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Services, and information obtained from third parties such as payment processors and analytics providers. You must be at least 18 years of age, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Services. By using Motohub, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
Information We Collect
When you register, we collect your username, email address, and other basic profile details. When you buy or sell, we collect order details, shipping addresses, and related communications. Payments and payouts are processed through Stripe Connect. Sensitive information such as Social Security Numbers, tax identification numbers, bank account numbers, and credit card numbers are collected and stored by Stripe, not by Motohub.
We also collect usage data such as IP addresses, device identifiers, browser types, and log information. Buyer–seller messages and support inquiries are stored on Motohub’s systems, and our Customer Support team may access these communications when necessary to resolve disputes, investigate fraud, or enforce our Terms of Service. We also use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Services and analyze traffic.
How We Use Information
We use personal information to provide and improve the Services, process transactions, facilitate shipping and payouts, and communicate with you about orders, account activity, and updates. Information is also used to verify accounts, detect fraud, enforce our rules, and comply with tax and regulatory requirements. Where permitted, we may send marketing communications, which you can opt out of at any time.
Data Retention
We retain personal information as long as necessary to operate the Services, comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes. Even if you close your account, we may retain certain information for compliance and recordkeeping purposes.
Security
We take steps to protect personal information through technical, administrative, and physical safeguards, including encryption and access controls. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection of your data.
Children
The Services are not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a minor, we will delete it unless legally required to retain it.
State-Specific Rights
Residents of certain states may have privacy rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or similar state laws. These rights may include the ability to request access to your information, correct or delete it, or opt out of certain types of data sharing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@motohub.co. We will verify your identity before responding.
International Users
If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions with different data protection laws.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our business, technology, and legal requirements evolve. The effective date will reflect the most recent version. We may notify you of material changes through the Services or other reasonable means.
